Treatment Modalities

Carolyn is trained in various trauma resolution techniques that help heal the root of many negative beliefs, behavioral patterns, stuck feelings and other trauma-related symptoms including EMDR, Brainspotting, EFT Tapping, Flash Technique and Internal Family Systems. Additionally, her work stresses self-compassion and cultivating a compassionate view of yourself in light of your past as well as the current state of your nervous system (Polyvagal Theory) so you can learn how your brain and body work together to help you get through life’s most difficult moments and move towards greater self-understanding and well-being. You can learn more about her approach here.

Online Counseling

Attending video counseling sessions online with Embodied Counseling is a great way to work toward your goals. Since the pandemic, Carolyn has moved her practice online and has found it to be as effective and even more convenient to in-person work for the majority of her clients. She is only able to see individuals physically located in Colorado. Learn more about online counseling here!

INVESTMENT

Counseling is a wonderful investment in your overall well-being that extends into and enhances nearly every area of your life. Carolyn’s goal is to build on your strengths and develop a plan for you that will help you to thrive in your daily life.

Individual sessions

  • Initial session: $225 for an 80 minute session.
  • Subsequent sessions:
      • $150 for a 50-minute session.
      • $225 for an 80-minute session (We will discuss together if this is recommended for you.)

INSURANCE

Carolyn is able to provide you with a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. You will need to contact your insurance company regarding this process and whether this is a possibility given your specific plan. She is not on any insurance panels and would be what is considered an “out-of-network” provider. You may wish to check out a brief article on why paying out of pocket potentially can be money saving but most certainly will keep your mental health information more private.

Good Faith Estimate

For those paying for therapy out of pocket, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and
hospital fees.
• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.
